Our 14 year old daughter is recently diagnosed with KC. One eye severe, one eye is affected but not that much. We want to fo to the Rotterdam Eyeclinic to get a good treatment but waitinglist is 6 months. I would like to know if there a German clinic with the same quality and a shorter waitinglist.

I'm from the Netherlands and my daughter (14) was recently diagnosed with KC. One eye has a severe condition, the other is much better but is affected by KC. We wanted to go with her to the eye-clinic in Rotterdam but the waitinglist is 6 months. That's way to long. Is there a German eye-clinic that has also great quality but shorter waitinglists? Thank you.

I suppose, in general 'great quality' and long waitinglists go hand in hand ...

Maybe you want to be more specific what you are looking for: just examination or transplantation or?

(I'm living in the south, so never informed me about northern Germany)

KC-Experience: Selbst Betroffene, rechtes Auge schon eine Operation;
zweite Operation (am linken Auge) am 18.01.2017 von Dr. Böhnke in Hamburg (Rothenbaumchaussee)
Keratoconus since: Diagnose durch Optikerin etwa 1994, davor seit dem 12./13. Lebensjahr "normale" Brillenträgerin gewesen
Experience with eyeglasses / lenses: Trage harte Kontaktlinsen
Operationen: 1. Keratoplastik Mai 2004 am rechten Auge
2. Keratoplastik 18.01.2017 am linken Auge
Mögliche Ursachen: sehr wahrscheinlich erblich bedingt (ich vermute, dass ich es von meinem Großvater väterlicherseits geerbt habe)
Ich über mich: Falls jemand Fragen an mich hat oder Interesse an einem Stammtisch o.Ä. in / um Lüneburg, kann er sich gerne bei mir melden. Allerdings bin ich nicht so oft im Forum, aber ich versuche es, wenigstens einmal im Monat hier reinzuschauen.

Hello,
please excuse my bad english, but perhaps my information will be a help for you / your daughter.
I have had an operation (Keratoplastik) this year (18.01.2017). And I´m very glad about the doctor (Prof. Dr. Matthias Böhnke) who did the operation.

I think you will also have a waitinglist, but perhaps it will be a little bit faster.
